Our Secretary General, Sr. Marjolein Bruinen, took part in the AGM of the German Conference DOK from 12 to 15 May 2024 in Vallendar.
In addition to reports from the Board and the working groups, the annual accounts for 2023, a resolution on the increase in membership fees from 2025 and the adoption of the provisional budget for 2025, a number of current topics were discussed: updating on sexual abuse, Holy Year 2025, solidarity work, information on the Catholic Day 2024 and from the legal field. An entire day was dedicated to the “Interculturality of Religious Orders” with introductions and workshops.
At the end of the study day, the General Assembly adopted a statement on the issue of people with different cultural backgrounds and influences living together in Germany (see DOK website).
It was a wonderful meeting and the excellent support at the Forum Vinzenz Palotti certainly contributed to the positive atmosphere of this meeting.
