On Monday 31 January 2022, the Latvian religious gathered at the “St Joseph” Convent of the Dominican Sisters of Bethany in Riga to elect a new council and celebrate the World Day of Consecrated Life. The Apostolic Nuncio to the Baltic States, Petar Antun Rajić, also attended the meeting.
Jesuit Father Jānis Melnikovs, formerly Vice-President of the LKDIPAK Conference, was elected President, Apostolic Oblate Liliane Bertrand from the Pro Sanctitate movement was elected Vice-President, and Arnita Buldure, a consecrated sister from the Chemin Neuf community, was elected Secretary.
The term of the new council is three years.
