At the Manresa centre of the Jesuits in Romania, between 22-24 October 2024, the tenth common formation meeting of the two Conferences of Major Superiors of Romania was held with the topic: ‘The peripheries, God’s favourite space – a place of regeneration of consecrated life’, held by Sr. Fernanda Barbiero smsd.
Right from the start, we were delighted with the presence of His Excellency Gianpiero Gloder, Apostolic Nuncio in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, His Excellency Claudiu Lucian Pop, Bishop of the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Cluj-Gherla, His Excellency Ioan Călin Bot, Bishop of the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Lugoj and head of the Commission on Consecrated Life of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Romania.
During these days, the Conference of Men Major Superiors held new elections for president and staff. Fr. Damian-Gheorghe Pătraşcu, Provincial Minister of the Province of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, of the Friars Minor Conventual, was re-elected with a majority of votes; the vice-president is Fr. Ioan Marin Albu, Provincial Superior of the Order of ‘St. Basil the Great’. During the same meeting, the other members, secretary and bursar of the Conference were elected.
The meeting concluded with the gathering of the two Conferences for a moment of prayer and communion.
